Art comparison essay

The two art pieces I chose to compare are Priscilla Johnson, 1966 by Alice Neel and The Seated Women, 1917 by Egon Schiele. These two painting depict two young women who are sitting and convey messages to the person looking at the art piece. Each painting is unique unto itself but they both have many similarities and differences.

However, most have a standard art essay structure. The Mona Lisa is one of the most known paintings in the world. This is the painting of Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco Del Giocondo, believed to have been painted in the 16th century. It is the work of Leonardo da Vinci and it was purchased by King Francis I.

Comparison and Contrast of Art Art is able to transport its viewer through time and connect us as a community. Audiences are able to infer the content and context of the artwork. Art displayed through different mediums and about different topics can share many similarities and draw connections between one another.

Van Gogh was known to cake the paint onto the canvas and create a visible texture that was reminiscent of his inner torment while Pollack's abstract art was created by slopping paint onto large canvases, often in a drunken rage. You can then compare and contrast the elements of each composition to reveal how these artists methods were similar.
