What is your favorite word and why essay examples

DEFENESTRATION. It’s an amazing word, I love it. The origin of my love for this word comes from 9th grade World History class. Mr. H really never taught us much about anything really. The only project I can recall working on was a Sumerian/Harry Potter Triwizard tournament/Prezi presentation.

It was a word that we loved as children, a word that fluctuates between good and bad in our adolescent years, and a word that we will love some day, once again. It’s astounding how one short word that is often said without thought can be part of us throughout our entire lives, and this is why “pretend” is one of my favorite words.

In terms of writing your essay, you want to make it clear what your word is without directly saying “my favorite word is _____.”; always start your essay with an interesting opener and a thoughtful conclusion. Since the essay is short at 250 words, you want to be fairly straightforward without being too stale or obvious.

“Mother” is the first word a baby says and every person then uses it both in the moment of happiness and being scared, when there is a need to share joy and when he feel sad. So, I believe “mother” is my favorite word because it denotes the most important person in my life and symbolizes the highest of the human virtues.
